Vari*Lite Lighting 4.0 Pack
The Vari*Lite Lighting 4.0 Pack is a complete overhaul and upgrade of the entire Vari*Lite product line - and when we say "overhaul," we ain't just Whistlin' Dixie! "Resorting the entire library" meant a complete reconfiguration, in order to match the topsy-turny online catalog - sorting fixtures by beam properties, instead of fixture groups! Yikes!
On top of that, the Vari*Lite Lighting 4.0 Pack also introduces the latest lighting fixture symbols, including the VL-800 Eventwash, EventPars, EventProfile, and ProPar; the VL-1100 LED and LEDHP; the VL-2600 fixture series; the 800 BeamLine; and the VL-5LED and VL-6500 Wash.
It also welcomes the extensive catalog of Showline fixtures, including the SL Bar 510, 520, 620, 540, 660, and the 7202T; the SL SunLED 10, Strip 10 IP, and eStrip 10; the SL Nitro 510 and 510C. In addition to that the Vari*Lite 4.0 Pack also includes the Showline EPar 180 and the PAR 150 Zoom; both LED flavors of the Punchlite 220; the LEDSpot 300 and Wash 350; and the Showline Beam 100 and 300FX, and the Band 300.
All this, joining proven fixtures such as the complete VL-4000 BeamWash movers, as well as the VL-6000 and 6500 fixtures. There's also the complete VL1100, VL2000, VL2201, VL2415, and VL2500 series; the VL3000, VL3015, and VL3515 series; the VL440, VL770, and VL880 Spot series; the VL500 and VL550 series; the VLX and VLX3 LED Wash series; and the VL4000 moving light fixture. Whew!
Tighten that Waistband: The new SoftTrim™ macros convert all applicable 3D components to Generic Solids, in order to reduce the overall size of every SoftSymbol resource in an effort to keep light plots compact.
3D components that hang, or sit on the floor: Symbol resources provide default 3D components that appear as fixtures hanging from a batten, or, with a FLR suffix - fixtures sitting on the stage.

SoftMaps™: A pdf map matching each object library. The printed-out pdf provides a hard-copy reference for all the symbols and their pertinent information, regardless of the printer.
SoftData™: The latest information, extracted directly from the symbols, and triple-checked using the SoftGauntlet® System. The data is translated into metric units as well—all symbols and resources can convert to metric scale, utilizing Sam Jones' free Autoplot for Spotlight macros.
LED Designation: All LED symbols use the SoftSymbols™ BlackDot® USITT designation to identify the number of LED color circuits.
• The Vari*Lite 4.0 Enhanced Vw2017 Pack is designed in the Vectorworks 2017 environment. All applicable 3D components retain Vw2011 Focus Functionality®. The object library is segmented, so that the new Spotlight Instrument Tool can reveal the Pop-up Thumbnail Resource Window.
• The Vari*Lite 4.0 Enhanced Vw2018-Vw2020 Pack is designed in the Vectorworks 2018 environment. All applicable 3D components retain Vw2011 Focus Functionality®. The object library is recombined, allowing the new Resource Manager to display more complete resource names, while the Spotlight Instrument Tool still reveals the Pop-up Thumbnail Resource Window.
• The Vari*Lite 4.0 Enhanced Vw2021 Pack is designed in the Vectorworks 2021 environment. All resources retain Vw2011 Focus Functionality® within the Vw2017 environment. On top of that, special data is added to each resource, streamlining the workflow from Spotlight to Vision.
• The Vari*Lite 4.0 Enhanced Vw2022 Pack is designed in the Vectorworks 2022 environment. All resources retain Vw2011 Focus Functionality® established within the Vw2017 environment. The 2022 Light Info Record also provides additional metric color frame size, power connector, and GDTF data fields.
• The Vari*Lite 4.0 Enhanced Vw2023 Pack is designed in the Vectorworks 2023 environment. All applicable 3D components retain Vw2017 Focus Functionality®, along with the special data that streamlines workflow from Spotlight to Vision. The 2023 Light Info Record also includes new data fields to separate DeviceBody from DeviceLens, as well as new data fields for Voltage, Source Wattage, LED Color Temperature, Signal Connector, and GDTF Type ID.
• The Vari*Lite 4.0 Enhanced Vw2024 Pack is designed in the Vectorworks 2024 environment. All applicable 3D components retain Vw2017 Focus Functionality®, along with the special data that streamlines workflow from Spotlight to Vision. The 2024 Light Info Record also adds DeviceBody and DeviceLens data cells to integrate symbols into the new Vw2024 Equipment Lists feature.
